“Dale is a 100% New Zealand Buck that sires the toughest and most problem free - SUPER maternal Does (OF ANY BREED) we've ever owned.  Dale's kids exhibit newborn vitality and parasite resistances.” Says Sky Shivers of Blu Sky Kikos.

PEDIGREE

WB The Dutchman “Apollo”  100% New Zealand Buck-

Grandson of Hercules.  This buck exhibits some of the best characteristics of the Kiko.  Large frame, rapid growth rate, wide front, length and spring of side, good hoof quality and parasite resistant (wormed once in the past year).

PEDIGREE

  • Birth weight  6.15 pounds

  • 90 day Weaning weight  62.75 pounds

  • 150 day Weight      85.16 pounds

  • This type weight gain converts to dollars in our pocket.

The Kiko goat is not a show goat.  The Boer Goat is a show goat.  Kikos are larger over all and will yield more meat at a younger age, but, not a pretty show goat. The breed was developed for meat production, weaning weights, parasite resistance, less maintenance, low birth weights and an ability to browse and grow with little supplemental Feed.

Two organizations that have been helpful to me are; AKGA, American Kiko Goat Association, and ETGRA, East Texas Goat Raiser Association.  You can view their website for more info http://www.kikogoats.com/   and  http://www.etgra.com/

There is some History and Breed standards on www.kikogoats.com that would be good information to include.  I am a member of AKGA. And ETGRA
